2008 National Engineers Week

We observe National Engineers Week in February each year. Begun in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers, its goals are to:

• Help ensure a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by promoting an increased understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers among young students;


• Promote pre-college literacy in math and science, and


• Raise public understanding and appreciation of engineers' contributions to society.

During the 2008 Engineer’s Week Awards Banquet, held on February 22, 2008 at The University of Alabama in Huntsville Bevill Center, we recognized several of our members for their contributions to the Engineering Profession.
