I am so glad to have the opportunity to be part of AESS and thanks to Buddy Bishop for keeping the Society active. Please send any ideas for areas of interest for topics in 2008. I would like to have a meeting in May.

There are three AESS provided Tutorials at SoutheastCon 2008, thanks to Buddy. These topics were selected form the areas of interest that were provided during the survey conducted.   1. The Huntsville Section is hosting the Region 3 2008 Southeastern Convention here in Huntsville in April.  Convention activities will occur at the Civic Center on 3-5 April. Keep those dates open and plan to attend. It will be a big event! Also, there are several Tutorials being planned in various technical areas but Huntsville AESS group is sponsoring 3 Tutorials . One on SAR/ISAR( full day), one by a Distinguished IEEE Lecturer on IMU's( with MEMS) ( full day) and another one on RFID ( which may be half or full day). Flyers will soon be sent out announcing the entireConvention program schedule, including the Tutorials.

  2. Since I have been the Section AESS Chairperson for the last 3 years I decided the Group needed some "new blood" leadership and that I needed to go on an extended sabbatical.  In that regard, I formed a Chairperson search committee of 1 and have found a candidate who has agreed to serve. His name is Keith Jadus, former Huntsville Section IEEE  Chair, and EE who works at Missile RDEC. Keith has been very active in the AESS group the last 3 years.
