Chair's Corner
Keith Jadus , Section Chair

Hello Everyone,‎

The summer is over and we are back to work, but there is still time to get your Senior Member nominations into the system. Please congratulate Dr. Bill Atkinson of The Boeing Company, elevated to Senior Membership from the Huntsville Section by the August selection panel. I also encourage everyone to participate in the IEEE Elections this year. See information on the IEEE-USA President-Elect candidates at http://www.ieee.org/web/aboutus/corporate/election/usavp.html
and the IEEE-USA Member-At-Large biographies at http://www.ieee.org/web/aboutus/corporate/election/usamal.html.
You will find links to other candidate web pages at http://www.ieee.org/web/aboutus/corporate/election/candidates.html.

Less than 14% of global IEEE members voted in last year's elections, let your vote make a difference this year. Cast your vote electronically at https://www.directvote.net/ieee/ or send the paper ballot mailed to your home.

Please note the Future Cities link provided, especially significant since IEEE Huntsville Section is sponsoring next year's competition . We appreciate all help that you can give Sonya in recruiting candidate 7th and 8th grade student teams across Alabama, along with teachers and engineers to mentor and nurture those teams.

All of our Societies continue setting standards for successful meetings, please see their links on the index. Besides that, the Robotics Committee and others are very busy planning for IEEE SoutheastCon 2008.

Attention all graduating students, please remember to continue membership benefits as you begin your careers. You are automatically a member of GOLD, and feel free to come by any of our meetings to find out more.

Sincerely,‎
