ELECTRICAL INSULATION CONFERENCE 2005
October 23-26
Indianapolis

The Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC) will be held at the Indiana Convention Center, in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, October 23-26, 2005. EIC is co-sponsored by the Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).

The Electrical Manufacturing & Coil Winding Association (EMCWA) will be holding a technical conference under the name of Electrical Manufacturing Expo (EME) concurrent with EIC. The joint conference offers short courses and workshops on the application of insulating materials, assessment of electrical apparatus and related topics. The associated Exhibition will feature commercial exhibits by suppliers of materials, components, manufacturing equipment and test instrumentation.

60 papers will be presented in oral sessions at EIC on the following topics:

Insulation systems for rotating machines
Diagnostics for rotating machines
Insulation systems for power transformers
Diagnostics for power transformers and accessories
Magnet (Winding) Wire
High voltage cables
Insulating materials
Switchgear
Outdoor insulators

7 short courses on a range of subjects: materials, design, manufacturing and maintenance

Working group meetings on the development of IEEE standards for rotating machine insulation
