Members,

Some good news and requests for you as we enter the Fall SENIOR MEMBERSHIP Drive:

IEEE has announced another Senior Membership Drive in addition to the year around efforts. Please make an effort to apply and indicate the Huntsville Section as the sponsor section. I will nominate those with more than ten years IEEE membership and/or college time with work experience. Then you will need two more references; Senior or Fellow grade. I will verbally assist you with locating the two references if you do not think you know any references. My telephone and email address is provided below. Some of our long time members have applied for IEEE Senior Member status this year. I congratulate them for their efforts. Many others are qualified for the upgrade.

The 2004 Senior Member Drive will end mid-November. However, please do not hesitate to apply after then; however, before then will benefit our section. The one who gains the most is the new Senior Member.

FELLOW NOMINATIONS:

The Huntsville Section and I invite all members to consider who may be qualified to be nominated for selection as an IEEE Fellow. The qualifications are listed on the IEEE website. Just go to http://www.ieee.org/ and search for IEEE Fellow. We have the good fortune to have a large percentage of Fellow members in this Section. However, I think more are qualified.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE MEMBERS REQUEST:

Please consider volunteering to help with the IEEE Huntsville Membership Committee. I need at least one person to enlist new members, one person to work with the new members, one person to work with the regular members, and one person to work with those whose dues are in arrears. My main effort is to promote and assist with upgrades. I will coordinate the efforts of any Membership Committee members.
