Chairman’s Corner
Hello Everyone,
The summer is here now and things are starting to slow down a bit. That's understandable due to everyone's schedules being cleared for VACATIONS! My family will be going to Disney World soon, so I hope all of you will be having just as much fun as we will be.
Some of our society chapters have decided to take a couple of months off and will ramp back up in the Fall. So expect us to have a few scheduled technical meetings in the month of August. In the meantime, please take some time out of your busy schedules to respond to our survey, which will be sent to you in a separate e-mail. We need input on your interest in a PE Preparation Course, a WLAN Workshop and the best times for our Technical Meetings. We need your input as soon as possible, so that we can host more events that our members can use for their continuing education.
Some of you have mentioned starting up a chapter for members interested in project management and related areas. Let me know who is interested in forming a Chapter of the Engineering Management Society. I'll let you all know how we are progressing in future issues of the LiveWire.
Within the next month, there will be a call for nominations for our 2005 Executive Board. This year we have an added incentive to recruit new active members to our Executive Board. The IEEE Huntsville Section will be paying $100 towards the 2005 dues for all elected board members. Hopefully, this will get you all to come out and start participating in the planning of our section events.
If you are interested in anything listed above, please feel free to respond via email to: Sonya.L.Hutchinson@nasa.gov.
Thank you all in advance for responding, and I hope you have a wonderful summer!
Sonya Hutchinson
2004 IEEE Huntsville Section Chair
