Some good news and requests for you as the IEEE Huntsville Section's 2003 year ends.

SENIOR MEMBERSHIP:

Some of our long time members applied for IEEE Senior Member status this Fall. I congratulate them for their efforts. The results of the applications were not available at press time. Others are qualified for the upgrade, Please make an effort to apply. I will nominate those with more than ten years IEEE membership and/or college time with work experience. Then you will need two more references; Senior or Fellow grade. I will verbally assist you with locating the two references if you do not think you know any references.

The IEEE Fall 2003 Senior Member Drive ended November 12, 2003 with Atlanta winning the Region III prize for the most upgrades, 36. However, please do not hesitate to apply. The one who gains the most is the Senior Member.

FELLOW NOMINATIONS:

The Huntsville Section and I invite all members to consider who may be qualified to be nominated for selection as an IEEE Fellow. The qualifications are listed on the IEEE website at: http://www.standardsamericas.net/portal/index.jsp?pageID=corp_level1&path=about/awards/fellows&file=Downloadforms.xml&xsl=generic.xsl or just go to http://www.ieee.org/portal/index.jsp and search for IEEE Fellow. We have the good fortune to have a large percentage of Fellow members in this Section. However, I think more are qualified.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE MEMBERS REQUEST:

Please consider volunteering to help with the IEEE Huntsville Membership Committee. I need at least one person to enlist new members, one person to work with the new members, one person to work with the regular members, and one person to work with those who are due arrears. My main effort is to promote and assist with upgrades. I will coordinate the efforts of any Membership Committee members.
