IEEE Membership Information

Members, we need to encourage our piers to join the IEEE.

Many members are eligible to upgrade their member status.  This is good for the member, the IEEE, and the Huntsville Section. The IEEE Bylaws Section I-104 Qualifications for all member grades is located at http://www.ieee.org/about/whatis/bylaws/i-104.html

Many of our members are eligible to upgrade to Senior Member. There is no additional cost. Please do so and encourage other members to do so. The Senior Member Program is detailed at the URL     http://www.ieee.org/organizations/rab/md/smprogram.html

The online process is much easier than full paper application previously required. If one prefers, an electronic form can be downloaded for printing, completion, and mailing. The Senior Member Elevation Form is located at http://www.ieee.org/organizations/rab/md/smelev.htm

NOTES FOR SENIOR MEMBER APPLICANTS:

 1. You must locate and provide at least three Senior and / or Fellow Members as references.

 2.  Your references must be willing to complete a reference form online.  A nominator is
      not required to complete a reference form, but must complete-provide the nominator info.

 3.  You must have at least ten years of experience, which may be via various combinations.

 4.  You should provide an up-to-date resume with the application form as indicated on it.

I will start to compile a list of IEEE - HSV Senior and Fellow Members for use in the upgrade process.
If you are a Senior or Fellow Member and you do not want to participate, then please notify me, Woody Williams, woody@imagefactorsouth.com Likewise, if you are willing to help advance various members to Senior Member, then please contact me. If you want to upgrade to Senior Member and do not know three IEEE Senior and / or Fellow Members, please contact me for help.

AFFILIATE MEMBERS:

Section Chairs can now review an Associate member's academic training and request the IEEE Admission and Advancement committee (A&A) to approve the Associate member for Member grade. If you would like to upgrade from Affiliate to Member status please contact me, Woody Williams, woody@imagefactorsouth.com or our Section Chairman Eric Grigorian egrigorian@ieee.org and we will see if we can upgrade your membership status.
