UAH in IEEE Potentials Magazine
The IEEE Student Branch wishes to congratulate Dr. Reza Adhami and Mr. Peter Meenen, on the recognition of their biometrics research, which was the front-page feature of the Huntsville Times on October 2, 2001. The technical version, "Fingerprinting for Security," was published in the bi-monthly student magazine of the IEEE "Potentials," August/September 2001. Dr. Adhami is the Chairman of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Mr. Peter Meenen is a graduate student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering.
"This award-winning magazine for up-and-coming electrical and computer engineers explores career strategies, the latest research and important technical developments. IEEE Potentials relates theories to practical applications and highlights technology's global impact." Another well-known magazine that students and professional members receive is the "Spectrum." It is a monthly publication accompanied with an informative newsletter. Most students are very pleased to receive high quality publications such as the Spectrum and Potentials magazines in addition to many other benefits for such a minimal membership fee, and no other club fees.
