First Annual Southeastern Software Engineering Conference
Huntsville Hosts Software Conference
The first annual Southeastern Software Engineering Conference (SE)2 will be conducted April 9th and 10th, 2002 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The (SE)2 Conference is co- sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association, the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute, and the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
In addition to the named sponsors, the Army Aviation and Missile Command's Software Engineering Directorate, Army Space and Missile Defense Command, and NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center will be participating in the conference.
The (SE)2 Conference will provide presentations and discussions of
the latest developments in software engineering and software
program management. Conference sessions include:
The conference registration fee is $60.00 for those who register by March 1st, 2002, and will be $70.00 thereafter. The registration fee includes attendance at all conference sessions, both lunch functions, the reception, and job fair. Currently enrolled full-time students will be admitted to conference sessions, the reception, and job fair without charge. Those students wishing to also attend the lunch functions may register separately for the lunches. Conference Proceedings will be provided for download from the website free of charge, or by CD-ROM for the cost of $5.00 to cover materials, shipping and handling.
The (SE)2 Conference will be conducted concurrently with Huntsville's premier technical symposium and exposition, the Technical Excellence in Aviation, Missiles, and Space (TEAMS) Conference. The TEAMS Conference and Exhibition will be conducted at the Von Braun Center from April 8th through the 11th, 2002. Based on previous attendance at TEAMS, this combined event is expected to host more than 8,000 attendees from government agencies, research universities, and large and small commercial and federal business enterprises. Within the TEAMS Exhibit Hall, a Software Engineering Pavilion will provide a venue for companies to showcase the latest in software engineering services, Computer-Aided Software Engineering Tools, and innovative software solutions for defense, space operations, and commercial applications. The exhibition area will be open to the public without charge.
