FBI/InfraGard Meeting

Computer Security Professionals:

I met many of you at the June 2001 Information Assurance Conference and promised to notify you when the local FBI office here in Huntsville scheduled a meeting to introduce the InfraGard program (www.infragard.net)InfraGard is a partnership between the private/public sector and the Government (represented by the FBI) to promote the secure exchange of information about threats to and actual attacks on the nation's critical infrastructures. President Bush's October 16, 2001, Executive Order establishing the Critical Infrastructure Protection Board, stresses the importance of public and private sector information sharing of critical information systems threat warning, analysis, and recovery information. InfraGard chapters were designed to support such an information sharing effort and over 65 chapters have already been established across the country. The Atlanta InfraGard Chapter has over 50 companies represented (www.infragardatlanta.org).

FBI Special Agent Charlie Cox will be hosting the meeting to discuss interest in establishing an InfraGard chapter here in Huntsville.
