The Future City Competition is a national competition for 7th and 8th grade students. Teams envision and design a city of the future with an emphasis on a specific field of engineering. The design includes an essay, computer simulation and a scale model. After several years without participation, the State of Alabama returned to the competition in 2008, when the IEEE Huntsville Section hosted the event here in Huntsville, under the care of Sonya Hutchinson. We hope to keep this state wide competition right here in Huntsville for years to come.
